Both my wife and I were volunteer race officials and during the practice days prior to the race we had the opportunity to roam the pits. As luck would have it we came upon Steve McQueen talking to a journalist. Not wanting to be intrusive I waited until he was finished talking and then pointed to my camera and asked if I could take a photo. However, being a big fan of his, what came out of my mouth was gobbledygook. I became so tongue tied, because it was Steve McQueen, that my words didn't make sense. Steve must have thought I was Hungarian and didn't speak any English for all he did was say, "OK, but don't ask me to pose."
