Although McQueen raced mostly Triumph, and later, Husqvarna dirt bikes, he owned a few Hondas along the way. This Elsinore model was named after a race that took place in the Lake Elsinore area of San Diego County in Southern California. McQueen ran the Elsinore races, though interestingly enough, aboard a Husky. His motorcycle muse, Bud Ekins, told me that while McQueen was a competent sports car racer, he was “exceptional” aboard a dirt bike. “Hugely talented.” And Ekins would know.
