Jaguar built just 16 XK-SS in 1956-57. The street version of the legendary D-Type racer, the XK-SS is rare, fast, and expensive. Neile Adams McQueen recalls paying $5000 for this car when they bought it in the late 50s; its easily worth $3 Million or so now. Affectionately dubbed The Green Rat by McQueen, the Jag was one of his favorites, so much so that he regretted selling it in the 1960s, and later bought it back. That’s me at the wheel, driving the Jag on historic Mulholland Drive in the Hollywood Hills. Photo courtesy of Motor Trend magazine.
