After his disheartening experiences in Molly Picon Steve got further experience in an upstate New York summer stock play called Peg O' My Heart in which he played an English fop opposite Margaret O'Brien. On the opening night he became nervous and forgot some of his lines. The shows director, George Englund, came backstage after curtains and said, "Steve, I want you to know you were embarrasing". The picture to the right is the play program, featuring the cast members autographs (including that of Steve). Picture courtesy of Morin Christophe. |
